Fishing: A 2 minute drive from Hart's Rocky Mountain Retreat may take you to a lake, reservoir, pond, river, stream or creek where fishing is abundant in both summer and winter. The San Juan River is also the "most stocked river in Colorado" with our Pagosa Quality Fishing Project.

The waters below the Navajo Dam in New Mexico are considered world class fly fishing. It's about an hour and a half drive, but well worth it to serious fly fishermen (and women). Guides are available through outfitting shops in Pagosa Springs.

Fishing Equipment/Gear: Pagosa Springs hosts several tackle stores within a 5-10 minute drive. The staff offer expert advice on fishing areas, flies and lures to use, and secrets known only to the locals.

Lake, Reservoir or Pond for Boating: Within a 2 minute drive, you can be at a lake, reservoir or pond for boating. There are other excellent boating spots if you're willing to drive a little further. Be sure to check with local authorities on the type of boats and/or motors allowed.

Boat Rentals -- Canoe, Row, Paddle, Tube, and/or Motor on Pagosa Lakes: This shop is a 2 minute drive.
